Olympic and Paralympic Table Tennis Player
Melissa Tapper is an Australian table tennis player who has the distinction in March 2016 of being the first Australian athlete to qualify for both the Summer Olympic and the Summer Paralympic Games.
Melissa or “Milly” as she is affectionately known – represented Australia at the 2012 Paralympics and also at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in non-Paralympic competition.
Milly has brachial plexus injury resulting Erb’s Palsy which is a paralysis of the arm caused by injury to the upper group of the arm’s main nerves.
Milly has represented Australia across the globe and is also the face of a recent Samsung advertising campaign. The campaign saw giant billboard, advertising and television across the country. Their slogan was #DoWhatYouCant.
